Edna Chirico, CCIM, is actively focused on sustainable development. She has been a commercial real estate broker for 15 years and has been consulting in the areas of site location, entitlements, market analysis and competitor analysis.
As our economy recovers, true sustainable development will require balancing economic, environmental and social aspects of the project, area and region. Edna's experience, skills and involvement will provide much needed service within the public and private sectors.
Currently, Edna, through Green Moose LLC, serves as the Executive Director of the Catawba River District, a regional initiative designed to expand triple bottom line principles. She also maintains consulting agreements with clients focused on green energy/environmental sustainability, including ReVenture Park, a 600-plus acre Eco-Industrial Renewable Energy/Alternative Fuel campus.
Edna served as a Mecklenburg County Commissioner for two terms from 1990-1994 and has maintained numerous relationships within the government arena. She also holds the coveted Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
She is also involved in economic development serving on the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Executive Board. Edna has been involved in several public/private initiatives including the University City Municipal Service District (University City Partners), currently serving as vice-chairman.
Past accomplishments include chair of the WTVI public television board, chair of the Mountain Island Lake Marine Commission, and member of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Park and Recreation Commission, Mecklenburg Capital Budget Advisory Board, Gaston Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the UNC Charlotte Alumni Board of Governors.
